These codes for the Nokia series of phones unlock some hidden functions.Use the codes at your own risk, not all Nokia phones support all codes.
How To Find Out What Firmware Version You Have
You can find your phones firmware version by entering *#0000# on the phone while it is in standby.
Restore Factory Settings
Enter *#7780# on the phone while it is in standby.This will reset it to the factory settings and wipe most of the stuff from the phone (contacts, connection settings etc).
Display handset’s IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Number
Enter *#06# on the phone while it is in standby.
Display Handset’s Warranty
*#92702689#
Here you can view the S/N and the IMEI as well as the life timer (newer models). The date the phone left the factory and the date it was purchased. If your phone has been repaired the date of the repair is also visible. You will need to turn the phone off to exit this menu. Newer phones simply require you to press ok.
Display the Bluetooth MAC address
*#2820# (Phone must have a built in bluetooth adapter)
Reset the mobile wallet
*#7370925538# (Phone must have the mobile wallet feature)

The reason why your phone doesn’t accept other sim cards is that your phone is likely locked to a specific network.You can unlock the restriction by contacting your network about the network restriction on your phone.

Incase you didn’t changed the security code before, the default code is 12345.
If not, then the phone will need a re-flashing to clear the security code.You can ask Nokia Service Center to do it for you.

I advise that you must update your firmware version.You can contact Vodafone about this as your firmware is locked to them.

Yeah.I’ve experienced that thing too…many many times! That’s a usual problem on N5300 especially when you have mixed audio files.Meaning you have Mp3, WMA, and AAC on your music library.
But this problem is now fixed on the later firmware.I also suggest that you update your firmware version to v5.0(latest).

Sounds like a firmware installation fault.Maybe your internet connection fluctuated during the update.My suggestion is: Try to re-update the firmware again.Tell us what happened after that.

Technically there’s no way to reset the password.What the use of that if you will be able to see the password then?

1. That’s weird.. when listening to MP3 using headset, you can still hear the music play via the speakers. But if your playing the radio, its ok?
I’ve had this experience when i plugged in an adapter for a stereo.. i can still hear the music play from my unit’s speakers and the other speakers.
Its either the cable or the phone that has the problem!

i think that program did something wrong with the programming of your phone.
Might as well bring it to the nearest nokia repair center to fix all your problems. plus have the latest firmware installed!

in nokia 5310 xpressmusic, the problem is the media player there’s no stop, so if you played a music or video and back to menu, the application is not yet turn off, and return to media player again, i think you open twice, so the phone restart,
To nokia software, this is my comment, i like the unit, but you need to update the application and add stop key.

i just updated my nokia 5300 Firmware v3.50 to 5.51 (the latest), everything was fine,anyway on the same day, after the update i noticed a new menu in my main menu called “IM”.

the phone is not working properly..
I cant get any of the applications started,except all the program from the phone memory (media player, music player, etc) because the phone stops responding when i try to open the jar file that i install.
turning it on is a challenge too, because when i do that the screen flashes about 4 times (seems like it can’t booting to the os, the flash mean it is turned on, then it automatically restart without turning off the phone)after 4 times flashing it turns off automatically.. sometimes after those flashes(after the turn off), i wait for about 5 minute, then turns on, it work!! but still can’t open any jar file.

and I see that many people is suffering the same problem. So i think there is an error in the new firmware i think. any comment to solve this problem will be appreciated. As this will not only solve my own problem.

So far I’ve never experienced that problem. So i’m still observing it, hope it won’t happen to me. Strange, I haven’t seen any IM program on my main menu, my question is..Have installed any IM client on your phone before you updated it? and what method did you use, online or offline update?

I am not installing any IM client on my phone before updating the firmware. As nokia 5300 actually isn’t called installing program. Cuz any program that wanna run is just copying its jar file from computer to the phone or mem card. N the IM menu usually is only appear in the messaging, but now, i can see the IM in messaging and in the main menu. I’m not lying, this really happen to me now. Before the firmware update, everything is normal. I can run jar file, can boot my phone smoothly, no IM in the main menu.
And also I dont quite understand about the online update and offline update. I updated my phone using nokia software updater, and it download the new firmware, then installing into my phone. After the nokia software updater say, you can now use your phone, I unplug the cable, n my phone is hang (i cant move, n i can’t turn off, so I just remove the battery). then i turn on again, it flash 4 times then turn off, I have problem of booting after the update is finnish. And everything is a problem until now.
I start to think that I want to format my phone memory then install a fresh OS to the phone. haha. But I know that can’t be

If you want to reflash your phone, better send your phone to the Nokia Service Center. They would likely reflash it for free if the phone is still within its warranty period.

My frend got same phone n he got newer firmware than mine, i thnk 5.0. But he also got the same problem. And this phone plays wav sound? If does thn why it says unsupported format in my phone. And i saw wav sound played in other’s 5300 phone. And whats the maximum size of memory card it can take? I am using 512mb rite now.

It’s better to update your phone, because v5.51 is pretty stable and much responsive. Nokia 5300 does play wav sounds(I’ve tested one sound clip on it, it works). The phone can take memory cards up to 2GB memory space.

Hey everyone, if you everforget your security code (if changed to another from 12345 ) and you have infrared you can try by searching for a small program working in DOS mode, but I cant remember its name, a long time ago I forgot my code and I didnt want to buy cable only to re/flash my phone in order to see the code so I searched for some programs and when I found this program, fortunately it worked.

Thanx for the response. I want to know that how can i delete some of the things i got in my phone gallery like graphics n ringtones. I tried to delete but it won’t allow. I don’t want those things as i don’t use it and its eating up my memory too about 1.3 mb. which could be handy for other better things. hello again. I just have my 5300 reflashed from nokia service center. Before the flash, i get many error like flashing 4 times when trying to switch on the phone, the phone hang during opening any application,n there r an IM menu in the main menu!!!!. Now, after the reflash, everything is back to normal. And I’m now have a stable firmware version 5.51 RM-146. I can update it over-the-air. The very important is that my phone is faster than before!!!. I would like to recommend JUSTAS that have posted his phone problem (his problem is the same with me) to have his 5300 reflash in nokia service center.
Another big big question I wanna ask everyone, “How do they (the service center crew) reflash my phone?”. I start to think that what they can do can be done by me/us either.

The Nokia service center have a dedicated flasher machine which can be used for all phones. Unless your phone is completely *dead*, I won’t send my phone there just for an update.
BTW, you can buy an all-around phone flasher ranging $200-1000. Bit pricey huh?

If you still remember the security code that you’ve entered, you have still chances of unlocking it. Have your phone rest a bit, for about an hour then try to enter the passcode again.
If still won’t work, try sending your phone to the Nokia Service Center and get it reflashed.

my 5300 started misbehaving recently. Much 2 my disappointment as its my favorite. The calculator has ‘disappeared’ and the music player doesnt work anymore, it starts the application then updating, stays at 0% and then says that “no music files found”.

You cannot reformat the Nokia 5300 in any way, but the good this is you can restore its setting. Just Enter *#7780# on the phone while it is in standby. And enter the default code 12345, if it’s still unaltered.

im not sure why this is happening buut after entering the puk code (12345678) and my pin (not telliing), everytime i turned on my phone its saying, “rejecting simcard” and all i could do was call security numbers, nothing else it was jus a blank screen, so i took out the simcard and it worked perfectly fine.
HOW CAN I LET IT ACCEPT THE SIMCARD ?!?!?!
alright i did a pretty stupid thing i reset the whole phone and it still rejects my simcard.

I’ll share my experience.DO NOT INSTALL a lot of games and applications in Nokia s40 v3a’s memory card.Because sometime the games which installed on your phone will be broke up.if it broke up,You will get a many files with super large size and that mush crash/hang ur phone.my real memory size is 240mb,but coz one of games broke up.it comes 3,2GB!!! and crash while access it.only way to solve this problem is format your micro-sd.
Remember, if u have micro-sd full of data,such as music, photo ,theme or ringtone.U should burning it into CD.because if it damage or formatted,it will be very very sad thing u ever got,especially if u have 1 or 2 GB micro sd and full data.with burn into CD,u’ll be able to restore data if it formated.do not back up in computer.because windows is very unstable,i afraid ur windows got virus and must re-install.your memory back up will be lost in comp.

everytime im being sent a gprs and mms settings, my cellphone says, “only 70 settings allowed, settings discarded”

pleasd can anyone help me with a possible solution for my X6 and N96 phones.The problems associated with the two phones are as follows.X6:Whenever i try to on it,it does fail to come up instead it flashes for like 3-4 times and it goes dead without displaying the nokia welcome page.
