An embedded device is defined as a device that meets military requirements or specifications. Typical fields that require these types of devices are also in agricultural, healthcare, field service, aviation services, public safety, naval safety, manufacturing, and the military.
So in this article we will enumerate the different BOX PC’s and discuss how they can be useful in tough environments.
The different types of BOX PC’s are the following:
MK-306 – Box PC
This Box PC is based on the CPC306 processor module. It comes with VIM301 graphics controller inside and is powered with PS351 PSU module. The main unit does not have any moving parts and maintains its cool within room temperature.
MK-307 – РС/104, РС/104+ SBC based Modular computer
The MK307 is a modular type computer mainly designed for transport, governmental, and communications purposes. Its modular design allows for flexible usage overtime. This is similar to VME embedded board which use is for time-critical and modular embedded applications.
REC8925 – Intel® Atom™ N2800 based Fanless Embedded System
The Box PC REC8925 has a fan less rugged system that supports industrial temperature around (-40 to 70°C). It runs an onboard Intel® Atom™ N2800 CPU. REC8925 is intended for applications in power management devices, packaging, printing or molding machines.
REC8928 – Intel® Atom™ E660T based Fanless Embedded System
REC8928 runs on the family of power efficient x86 processors. Geared with Intel® Atom™ processor E660T rated with speeds up to 1.30 GHz and provides video output through its Intel® GMA 600 engine, it adds the capability of rendering graphics including 2D/3D image enhancement and encode/decode facility. This is quite similar to an embedded computer like the Micro PC.
REC8930 – Intel® Atom™ N455 based Fanless Embedded System
REC8930 is intended for vehicle computer tasks, Kiosk management, access control, production automation, data acquisition, unmanned machines, and mobile DVR.
