Nokia 5230 gets aboard
Just got a PR from Nokia Philippines, denoting the Nokia 5230 as a new addition to its growing list of touchscreen phones, is now locally available in the country. The phone is somewhat identical to the recently released Nokia 5530 XpressMusic which sports a better camera at 3.2MP and Wi-Fi but lacks 3G capabilities. While the latter one’s features an HSDPA 3G, a slightly better battery and minus the XpressMusic branding which should make the difference between the two. What is surprising is that both handsets do not have TV-functionality, a feature users rarely use. However, the phone is complemented by AGPS navigation.
It’s innovative Contacts bar features thumbnail images for up to 20 close friends and provides easy access to them and their communications history including emails, phone calls, photos or other social media updates. The Nokia 5230 features an easy to use music player with 33 hours of playback time and its memory can further be expanded to 16GB. In addition, the Nokia 5230 features a Media Bar with quick access to your favorite media and applications, such as music, photos, YouTube or Ovi Share.
Setting its siblings aside, N5230 offers an array of colors from which you can choose from white/blue, white/pink, white/red or white/white color combinations.
“We believe the Nokia 5230 is an unbeatable offer for many new customers who aspire a device that stars in music, mingles with social networks from Facebook to MySpace, navigates you to where it happens, when it happens, and comes in an array of dazzling colors, ” said Benoit Nalin, General Manager, Nokia Philippines.
