Singapore will get Nokia 2630
Nokia 2630 will now be available in Singapore from now on. The slimmest handset from Nokia line of devices will finally be out on the market, after it was unveiled at the beginning of May, this year. The thinnest mobile phone coming from Nokia has the dimensions of 105 x 45 x 9.9 mm. That’s not nearly as satisfying when compared to what other competitors have to offer in terms of compactness. Moreover, the performances that this handset has to offer are much lower than those of other devices of similar sizes.
Nokia 2630 certainly looks pretty and stylish, but when put up to the test, it has high chances of disappointing big time. Its TFT 65k color screen is capable of supporting only a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and the VGA camera will take only the lowest quality pictures. The greatest disadvantage about this device is that, aside from its 11MB of internal memory, it is not capable of supporting any form of additional data storage space.
There is no 3G technology included here, although the phone brings GPRS and EDGE instead. Connectivity is also available trough Bluetooth and USB, although the lack of data storage space will surely make itself felt.
The one advantage that Nokia 2630 will have to bring for its owner is that it also supports emails and instant messaging. That is supposed to take care of expanding the communication solutions that handsets have to bring at this time. Moreover, it also comes equipped with a WAP 2.0/xHTML browser, although the low data transfer speeds might pose a problem. Another advantage is that of the FM radio that takes care of entertaining the owner in the absence of an MP3 player and that of enough space for storing personal songs.
Nokia 2630 should be available from now on in Singapore for the price of SGD 300 (about USD 110) without operator plan.
